This reminded me of the "Baby College" program I listened to on the "Going Big" podcast of "This American Life." It is a program that focuses less on the adults though, and more on getting the parents to introduce literacy to their kids early on as well as helping the parents to consider more appropriate discipline strategies and changing the way in which they talk to their children. It sounded like a remarkable program because at it's core it was simple: help these children become strong readers from the very beginning so they can be very functional in school. It also, like CCSI, required parents to commit to the program for a long time. It was a great TAL episode, but the "Baby College" bit was only about the first 15-20 minutes and is available at:

Sounds like the CCSI programs shares some similar threads.
