SQJ,
Try emailing office@lifespringchristian.org and ask to be added to the email list for The Connection. Dick's articles aren't currently online.

I think writing the wish for him to write a book can count, too, so now that you have--welcome to the club. :)

Jen

I'm putting forth my best resigned tone: We must convince Dick Alexander to write a book.

Since moving to Florida a few months ago, I've wished many times that I could download LifeSpring's sermons and add them to my walk-about playlist!

As for The Golden Compass, I've not read the book or seen the movie, and I'm not likely to. But I do agree with Dick's assessment of Christians' response. Yes, these types of responses require that we be more intentional than many of us are used to. And set aside time for engaging conversation that many find so uninviting. But it's worth it, especially when we have so many distractions jockeying for time — soccer, school plays, shopping, ballet, homework, overtime, working out, surfing. If we aren't intentional in prioritizing what's really important in our relationships, our conversations, our living, then we lose.

great post... I'm *really* looking forward to seeing the film and I'll probably read the books too.

Where can I find Dick's editorial online? Great stuff. My favorite line?

"The writer is angry at religion that abuses power. Isn't God? Aren't we?"

I am and I'll join the WMCDATWAB club as soon as I'm not alone. I tried just saying, "I sure wish Dick Alexander would write a book." as I read your post, but it doesn't seem like it counts unless someone hears it. This club sure has a lot of rules. :-)
